Description:

There is a current opening for a Senior System Administrator (Sr. SA) with strong Linux experience. Sr. SA will provide Tier 3 support and serves on the front line as technical personnel on the System Administration team in support of Linux/ UNIX systems. The duties include installing the operating system, managing the configurations, troubleshooting, monitoring the status of all systems and applications, etc. Additionally, the Sr. SA must have VMWare experience.

The Sr. SA will make recommendations in information system selection and software application packages, instruct and train staff in information system operations and provide leadership and coordination on projects assigned to systems analysts. The Sr. SA will analyze, design, program and maintain information systems and peripherals, install computer equipment, related peripherals, and software, troubleshoot hardware and software problems and analyze data and develop logical solutions to complex computer applications problems. The Sr. SA must be able to operate office equipment including computers and supporting word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.

Must have experience in the following:

  • Perform surveys of the market to identify binary analysis tools.
  • Develop criteria for binary analysis tool evaluation.
  • Assist with binary tool testing and evaluation.
  • Assist in analysis of tool test results.
  • Write technical content for the binary tool test reports.
  • Assist clients with automated tools to evaluate binary code.
  • Support on-going testing of client binary code.
  • Design businesses and technical requirements.
  • Determine business/technical system/application requirements and indentify impacted areas, systems and processes and evaluation alternative solutions.
  • Prepare and document project-planning information (e.g. estimated cost, time, resources, major tasks required to complete work) for input into the scope/requirements documents.
  • Facilitate a systematic process for capturing detailed business functional and technical requirements.
  • Determine system components and functional flow of components and data between components. Verify acceptance testing at the system level.
  • Complete accurate and thorough test plans on new/upgraded products. Reviews test results for any system modification.
  • Assess systems as business direction changes for impacts to existing design.
  • Experience, configuring, upgrading, troubleshooting, and repairing computers components, software, and peripheral devices.
  • Plan and coordinate the installation, testing and support of computer hardware and software applications.
  • Perform and implement systems maintenance, making program modifications as necessary to meet user requirements; review and modify programs to correct errors and improve efficiency and cost effectiveness.

Requirements:

  • Candidate must have 15 years’ relevant experience and a Master degree in Computer Science, Information System Management or Computer Programming. Four (4) years’ experience will be credited for a relevant Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Must have at least one (1) year experience as a system administrator for the Red Hat Linux operating system.
  • Experience with vCloudDirector and Linux is important and preference will be given to those candidates.
  • Must be an experienced SA that is able to help design, build, and support the future architecture for the Cryptologic Physical Product Modernization effort.
      • The SA will need to perform research, analysis, and contribute to the evaluation and selection of infrastructure solutions.
      • The SA will also have to perform the day-to-day duties involving trouble-shooting, patching, and monitoring of the existing architecture.
  • Other responsibilities include support of modernization efforts as the customer drives toward a Landlord-Tenant type environment. The customer is doing a lot of prototyping and the need to be flexible, dynamic, and a team player is high.
  • The willingness to participate in future architecture decisions would also be great; again, the need to be collaborative, flexible, and open
  • Must comply with the Certification Requirements: Linux + and/or Security +
  • Must possess an active TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph.
