SYSTEMS ARCHITECT


Position Summary:
System information requirements using the analysis of the systems engineers in the development of enterprise wide or large scale information systems. Designs architecture to include the software, hardware and communications, to support the total requirements as well as provide for the present and future cross-functional requirements and interfaces. Ensures these systems are compatible and in compliance with the standards for agency IT architectures as they apply to the implementation and specific to the solution for the platform, integration with other systems, and the external interfaces. Ensures that the common operating environment is compliant. Evaluates analytically and systematically problems of workflows, organization and planning, and develops appropriate corrective action. Provides daily supervision and direction to staff.

Requirements:

  • Fourteen (14) years of experience as a Systems Architect is Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
    • Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
    • Or twelve (12) years of experience and a relevant masters degree
    • Or eight (8) years of experience and a relevant P.H.D Degree
    • Or eighteen (18) years of experience with no degree
  • Provide technical program management and/or as a system development lead. Understand how systems engineer relates to an intelligence community environment.
  • Analyzes system requirements and leads design and development activities for complex systems.
  • Perform and provide technical direction for the development, engineering, interfacing, integration, and testing of complex hardware/software systems.
  • Develops associated technical documentation.
  • Make recommendations for improvement, assists in selecting new/additional standards when necessary, maintains currency with state of the art technology developments affecting applicable standards, and assists in developing new standards as required.
  • Must hold a current and active TS/SCI with Polygraph.

Desired Skills:

  • LINUX development environments, Nexus, Atlassian suite of tools (including JIRA, Confluence, Bamboo) , git
